The Shipping and Receiving Clerk performs a variety of material receiving and product shipping functions in order to timely meet customer product requests and delivery dates.
Essential Duties and Responsibilities:
To perform this job successfully, an individual must be able to perform each essential duty satisfactorily.
Identify information on incoming or outgoing shipments using purchase orders, invoices, and other documents.
Operate dolly, pallet jack, and/or forklift in loading and unloading supplies and equipment.
Follow established departmental policies, procedures, objectives, and work quality practices.
Ensure proper care in the use and maintenance of equipment and supplies
Promote and follow continuous improvement of workplace safety and environmental practices.
Sort, count, pack, label, unpack, and/or log inventory which is shipped or received.
Inspects shipments for damages or defects; record discrepancies or damages and notify supervisor, manager and/or purchasing personnel about issues.
Ensure that all available shipments are shipped out to customers on-time on a daily basis.
Perform good housekeeping by maintaining a safe and clean work environment (may require sweeping, mopping, trash removal, etc.)
Promptly reports to supervisor all observations that are relevant to ensure a safe and efficient operation in the department.
Communicate with managers, peers, and subordinates to help improve the performance of the department.
Complete documentation accurately and timely.
Performs other duties as directed by supervisor.

High School Diploma
Abilities/Skill Required:
Able to perform a variety of routine shipping and receiving functions.
Familiarity with shipping documents, including bill of lading and packing slips.
Basic computer skills and strong attention to detail.
Ability to work daily and/or weekend overtime.
Good problem solving and troubleshooting ability.
Must have good visual awareness.
Strong written and oral communications.
Ability to focus on the task at hand and work under the stress of deadlines.
Ability to follow procedures and written instructions.
Willing to work overtime when necessary.
Ability to do heavy lifting may also may be required (lift 50-75 lbs. With or without aid)
Ability to work in a standing position for extended periods of time.
Ability to work in metric and English units of measure.
