ACCOUNTS RECIEVABLE SPECIALIST

Under the supervision of the Controller and CFO, provide support to the finance department by managing daily accounting tasks primarily related to accounts receivable, cash management, payroll, and the monthly closing process for muliple media outlets.
35% Manage accounts receivable and issue invoices for all lines of business weekly and on demand.
20% Completely back up the payroll processing in ADP for the entire organization. Enter new employees, download time records for hourly employees, update payroll exceptions and changes, review for errors, and run reports. Download payroll data and enter bi-monthly payroll journal entries.
15% Run and review the Accounts Receivable Aging reports for all lines of business. Provide reports and support to underwriters and management to ensure timely and accurate collection of receipts.
15% Reconcile Accounts Receivable ledgers to the Balance Sheet. Audit ledgers to ensure they reconcile. Follow up with discrepancies and execute corrections.
10% Effectively communicate with clients about invoicing discrepancies and collection issues. Send out 2nd and 3rd bills as needed to ensure timely and accurate collection of receipts. Be available to answer questions from clients and service providers to field issues and solve problems.
5% Perform other duties as assigned.
EDUCATION AND/OR TRAINING:
A BS/BA in Accounting, Finance, or another relevant field is preferred.
3+ proven years experience in Accounts Receivable, payroll processing, and general accounting procedures as a staff accountant.

Experience working in a general ledger package. Financial Edge and/or Raisers Edge a plus
Experience working effectively with senior/ executive management teams.
Good understanding of accounting and financial reporting principles and practices. Knowledge of Accounts Receivable and (GAAP).
